1. Service Description & NRS 240A Disclosure
CourtFree ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") provides legal document preparation services for Nevada court filings, including divorce, marriage license applications, and annulment proceedings. We prepare court-ready documents based on the information you provide through our online questionnaire.
Nevada Disclosure (NRS 240A): CourtFree is a legal document preparation service regulated under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 240A. We are registered as a document preparation service provider in Nevada. Under NRS 240A, document preparation services are authorized to assist in completing legal documents based on information provided by the customer. We are NOT authorized to give legal advice, appear in court on your behalf, or represent you in any legal proceeding.
2. Not a Law Firm — Important Disclaimer
CourtFree is not a law firm and is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. Our staff members are not attorneys licensed to practice law in Nevada or any other jurisdiction. We do not:
- Provide legal advice of any kind
- Represent you in court or in any legal proceeding
- Establish an attorney-client relationship
- Advise you on legal rights, strategies, or outcomes
- Verify that your situation is appropriate for our services
If you have questions about your legal rights, the best course of action for your specific situation, or whether our documents are appropriate for your case, consult a licensed Nevada attorney before proceeding. Free and low-cost legal aid may be available through Nevada Legal Services (nvlegalservices.org) or the State Bar of Nevada Lawyer Referral Service.
3. Scope of Document Preparation Services
Our services are limited to preparing legal form documents based on the information you provide. Specifically:
- We fill in court-form templates using information you submit through our questionnaire.
- We format documents to meet general Nevada court requirements.

5. No Guarantee of Court Acceptance
We do not guarantee that any document prepared by CourtFree will be accepted or approved by any court. Filing requirements, local rules, clerk practices, and individual judicial preferences vary by county and change over time without notice. CourtFree prepares documents based on general Nevada state requirements; county-specific variations are your responsibility to verify.
If a document is rejected by a court clerk or judge, CourtFree is not responsible for any fees, costs, or delays associated with the rejection, re-filing, or correction of documents.
6. Uncontested Cases Only
Our services are designed exclusively for uncontested proceedings where all parties are in agreement. This means both parties must agree on all terms, including any division of property, debts, and — where applicable — child custody, visitation, and support.
Our services are NOT appropriate if your case involves:
- A spouse or other party who contests the proceeding
- Significant or disputed property, business interests, or retirement accounts
- Custody or support disputes
- Domestic violence, restraining orders, or safety concerns
- Immigration consequences that require legal evaluation
- Complex financial circumstances requiring legal or financial analysis
If any of these apply, please consult a licensed Nevada attorney before using our service.
7. Payment & Refund Policy
All fees are one-time charges for document preparation services, paid in advance through our secure payment processor (Stripe). Prices are displayed clearly before payment and include preparation of all required court documents for your selected service.
Refund Policy:
- Before documents are generated: If you contact us before your completed documents are delivered, we will issue a full refund.
- After documents are delivered: Refunds are generally not available once completed documents have been generated and made available for download, as the primary service has been rendered.
- Technical failure: If a technical error on our part prevents delivery of your documents, we will either correct the error or issue a full refund at your request.
- Document errors caused by us: If we made an error in preparing your documents that is not the result of information you provided, we will correct the error at no additional charge.
To request a refund or report a technical issue, contact us at support@courtfree.com within 30 days of your purchase.
Court filing fees paid directly to Nevada courts are not CourtFree fees and are non-refundable by CourtFree.
8. Limitation of Liability
CourtFree's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid to CourtFree for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nevada law, CourtFree and its owners, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of court filings, missed deadlines, or procedural defaults
- Legal fees or costs incurred to correct errors or re-file documents
- Adverse outcomes in legal proceedings
- Reliance on information provided on our website
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory on which any claim is based, even if CourtFree has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If applicable law does not permit these limitations, they shall apply to the maximum extent permitted.
9. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution First: Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at support@courtfree.com and describe your dispute in writing. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue within 30 days.
Governing Law: These Terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Venue: If informal resolution fails, any legal proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Limitation Period: Any claim arising out of these Terms must be brought within one (1) year of the event giving rise to the claim, or it is permanently barred.
No Class Actions: All claims must be brought in your individual capacity. You may not bring claims as a class member or participant in any class, collective, or representative action.
10. Privacy
Your privacy matters. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information — including sensitive case data — and your rights under Nevada privacy law. By using our services, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
